Remembering Wangari
Positive Circles commemorated the tenth anniversary of the passing of the late Professor Wangari Maathai with a gala titled #RememberingWangari, on December 11, 2021. We honored the environmental hero who not only fought for the environment but also championed democracy and human rights advancement in Kenya. A virtual tree planting exercise was conducted in her memory where environmentalists from around the country planted trees in honor of Wangari.
During the event, we had conversations on conservation with environmental activists Dave Ojay from NAAM Festival and Halima Dolif from Kenyatta University.
